Energy system integration in the building envelope

DESCRIPTION:

Integration of energy and technical building systems within prefabricated timber façade panels for existing building renovation. The solution includes the integration of passages for pipes and electrical systems, Building Applied Photovoltaics (BAPV), Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), and decentralised mechanical ventilation units positioned close to windows.

The integrated timber prefab panels are designed to simplify and accelerate renovation processes by combining multiple technical systems within a single façade solution. The approach supports more efficient installation processes and reduces the amount of onsite work required during renovation activities.

BUSINESS ROUTE

VALUE

Traditional renovation processes often require multiple onsite interventions and coordination between different technical systems, resulting in longer construction periods, higher costs as well as disruption for inhabitants. The integrated façade solution helps speed up renovation works, therefore reducing inconvenience for occupants during building operation and lowering installation complexity and costs. The integration of renewable energy and ventilation systems within prefabricated façade elements also supports improved building energy performance.
