Airport

The closest airport to Trondheim is Trondheim Værnes. Located about 30 km from the city center. To travel from the airport to the city there are a few options:

This is the easiest option. The Værnes ekspressen (airport bus) leaves from right outside the airport, you will see the bus parked right outside the exit doors. A ticket can be purchased from the people standing outside the bus or from a machine in the airport.

Tickets cost 260kr one way / 450kr return (26/45€) to go from the airport to Trondheim.

On the way back you have to hail the bus. You can book online to get a cheaper price.

The train stop is located in the airport, follow the signs and the train schedule can be found here. The train cost 47kr (about 5€) and the ticket can be bought on the train or the ATB app.

Taxi is the most expensive option and will cost about 800 kr (80€). The taxi queue is located just outside the exit doors. Taxi is the only option if you are arriving late at night after the bus and train.

Train from Oslo

There is a train from Oslo which takes about 7 hours. The train cost 600-1200 kr (60 -120€). Schedule and ticket purchase can be made at VY here.

In case you plan to stay an additional day, here are some suggestions for activities:
