Modality B – Producte supports research teams in Catalonia in moving their innovations closer to market. This funding programme is designed for projects that have already completed the conceptualisation of a transfer plan and identified a potential product or service based on their research results.

The grants finance innovation projects with a clear proposal for value creation, grounded in validated technology or knowledge. Eligible initiatives must aim to develop a prototype or carry out activities that demonstrate the feasibility and potential impact of the proposed solution.

The programme’s main goal is to support structured demonstration activities that lead to a proof of concept or validate the value-generation proposal. By doing so, it helps reduce the technical and commercial uncertainties typically associated with early-stage research results, paving the way for successful valorisation and transfer to industry or society.

The funds enabled the development of the ALMMA prototype, a controller for managing and monitoring heat pump installations with two registered algorithms (model predictive control and fault detection and diagnosis). This prototype was installed, adapted and tested in the domestic hot water centralized production system of the Jardins de Llevant building in Palma.
